BRC (British Retail Consortium), SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit), and GLOBALG.A.P. are all certification schemes commonly used in the food industry, each with its own focus and requirements, As a fruit exporter we are aware of the importance of these certifications in order to deliver high quality fresh fruits:

  1. BRC (British Retail Consortium): BRC Global Standards are widely used by suppliers and retailers globally to ensure food safety and quality. BRC certification involves rigorous audits of a company's facilities, processes, and systems to ensure compliance with BRC standards. The standards cover areas such as HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points), hygiene, traceability, and quality management.
  2. SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit): SMETA is an audit methodology developed by Sedex (Supplier Ethical Data Exchange) for assessing ethical and responsible business practices in global supply chains. SMETA audits cover various aspects of social compliance, including labor standards, health and safety, environmental performance, and business ethics. SMETA audits are often used by companies to demonstrate their commitment to responsible sourcing and ethical business practices.
  3. GLOBALG.A.P.: GLOBALG.A.P. is a certification standard focused on Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) for agricultural production. It sets voluntary standards for the certification of agricultural products around the world, covering areas such as food safety, environmental sustainability, and worker health and safety. GLOBALG.A.P. certification assures consumers that agricultural products have been produced in a safe and sustainable manner, meeting internationally recognized standards.
